What is the UWCT?

The UWCT (UCI World Cycling Tour) is the ideal competition for all amateur (from the Latin word ‘amator’= lover) cyclists who want to overcome a feat that they’ve challenged themselves to go through, and immerse themselves in the excitement and curiosity to see the outcome. It comprises 14 worldwide competitions which will qualify you for the World Amateurs Cycling Championships in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 28th -31st August.

When is it held?

From April 25th to 27th in Chania, the beautiful island of Crete, Greece.

Who does it address?

Both men and women for all age groups: 19-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+

What competitions does it involve?

  • 25th April: 1st stage ITT 4,8 km Hilly terrain

  • 26th April: 2nd stage 81km. R.R in mountainous terrain

  • 27th April: 3rd stage 119km R.R in a hilly terrain

  • 27th April: R.R 59 km R.R Experience’

Who has the right to participate?

Each rider without UCI points or Professional license in 2014 season.

Who qualified for the World Championships?

Each rider of his age category if he/she is to the 25% of their final general classification. In addition each rider from each individual race (ITT or R.R).

Will you make it? Why not? Even if you won’t, it doesn’t matter, as long as you set the bar higher every time, focusing on the goals that you strive to accomplish.
