Trail Project και το 2407 Mountain Activities, διοργανώνουν μαραθώνιο αγώνα Mountain Bike στην Καρδαμύλη Δυτικής Μάνης, στις 30 Οκτωβρίου 2011 με την ονομασία TAYGETOS MTB MARATHON 2011.
Στους αγώνες μπορεί να δηλώσει συμμετοχή κάθε ενήλικας που αγαπάει το ποδήλατο βουνού, την περιπλάνηση στη φύση και θα ήθελε να ζήσει µία υπέροχη εμπειρία στην Δυτική Μάνη, στους πρόποδες του ορεινού θησαυρού που λέγεται Ταΰγετος.
Με σημείο εκκίνησης και τερµατισµού την παραλία της Καρδαμύλης, οι διαδρομές εκμεταλλεύονται το δίκτυο των δασικών δρόμων και μονοπατιών που συνδέουν τους οικισμούς, τα αξιοθέατα και σας ταξιδεύει-ξεναγεί στην περιοχή. Μέσα από σημεία εκπληκτικής ομορφιάς όπως το δάσος της Βασιλικής,τα χωριά Καστάνια,Σαιδόνα και Προάστιο, η διαδρομή εναλλάσσεται συνεχώς και δε σας αφήνει ούτε λεπτό αδιάφορους.
Την Κυριακή 30 0κτωβρίου θα γίνουν οι ατομικοί αγώνες ορεινής ποδηλασίας όπου θα υπάρχουν δύο διαδρομές. Η MTB MARATHON 71 χλμ και η MTB FUN 40 χλμ.
Ο σχεδιασμός δεν περιλαμβάνει επικίνδυνα ή εκτεθειμένα περάσματα για τους αθλητές. Κατά μήκος της Μαραθώνιας διαδρομής θα υπάρχουν 3 σταθμοί ανεφοδιασμού με νερό. Το μέγιστο υψόμετρο που θα φτάσει η διαδρομή είναι στα 1597 μέτρα.
Η εκκίνηση θα δοθεί στις 09:30 και το όριο έγκυρου τερματισμού είναι μέχρι τις 17.00 ενώ ο πρώτος αθλητής υπολογίζεται να χρειαστεί περίπου 4 ώρες για να ολοκληρώσει την προσπάθεια.
Η γραμματεία του αγώνα, όπου θα πρέπει να παρουσιαστείτε ώστε να παραλάβετε το νούμερο συμμετοχής σας, θα βρίσκεται στη πλατεία της Καρδαμύλης και θα είναι ανοικτή από τις 18.00 έως 20.00 του Σαββάτου 29/10/2011 και 07.30 εως 09.00 της Κυριακής 30/10/2011.
Στην MARATHON διαδρομή θα υπάρχουν 3 κατηγορίες: Ανδρών (18-39), Ανδρών Βετεράνων (40+), και Γυναικών.
Στην FUN διαδρομή θα υπάρχει 2 κατηγορίες: Aνδρών και Γυναικών.
Το κόστος συμμετοχής ορίζεται στα 20 ευρώ. Με τη δήλωση συμμετοχής κάθε αθλητής εξασφαλίζει, ένα γεύμα το Σάββατο βράδυ και την τροφοδοσία του αγώνα. Όλοι οι τερματίσαντες, θα πάρουν αναμνηστικό δίπλωμα και μετάλλιο ενώ κύπελλα θα δοθούν στους νικητές και νικήτριες των κατηγοριών.
Αρωγοί του αγώνα ,οι Σαμαρείτες του Ερυθρού Σταυρού και οι Σαμαρείτες της ΓΑΙΑ.
