Το XTERRA Greece Championship 2017, για 2η χρονιά στο Δήμο Βάρης Βούλας Βουλιαγμένης

Μετά την απολύτως επιτυχημένη διοργάνωση του 2016, το XTERRA, η κορυφαία διεθνής διοργάνωση off road τριάθλου σε συνεργασία με το Δήμο Βάρης Βούλας Βουλιαγμένης, προσκαλεί ερασιτέχνες αθλητές και αθλήτριες όλων των ηλικιών και δυνατοτήτων, να «Ζήσουν Περισσότερα», στις 30 Απριλίου, στο 5ο XTERRA Greece Championship 2017.

Το XTERRA Greece Championship, αποτελεί μέρος του Ευρωπαϊκού και Παγκοσμίου Πρωταθλήματος XTERRA, που διοργανώνεται κάθε χρόνο στη Χαβάη και θα πραγματοποιηθεί για 5η συνεχόμενη χρονιά στη χώρα μας, από την XTERRA Greece, σε συνεργασία με τον Δήμο Βάρης Βούλας Βουλιαγμένης και ειδικότερα τον Οργανισμό Αθλητισμού, Πολιτισμού και Παιδικής Αγωγής (ΟΑΠΠΑ) του Δήμου.

Ο Ελληνικός αγώνας που το 2016 εντυπωσίασε εκατοντάδες αθλητές και θεατές απο όλο τον κόσμο, όχι μόνο για την οργάνωση του αλλά και για τις μοναδικές ομορφιές και δυνατότητες που προσφέρει ο μαγευτικός Δήμος της Αθηναικής Ριβιέρας, θα χαρίσει και πάλι αξέχαστες στιγμές στους φίλους των multisport events.

Στόχος της διοργάνωσης για το 2017 είναι να ξεπεράσει το ρεκόρ συμμετοχών της προηγούμενης χρονιάς και να δώσει την δυνατότητα συμμετοχής σε ακόμα περισσότερους αθλητές από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό που θέλουν να ζήσουν την εμπειρία μιας κορυφαίας αθλητικής διοργάνωσης, με τη σφραγίδα της XTERRA.

Οι αθλητές έχουν τη δυνατότητα να αγωνιστούν σε 2 διαφορετικές αποστάσεις:

  • την επίσημη, Full Distance: 1500m κολύμβηση, 30km mountain bike, 10km ορεινό τρέξιμο.
  • την Sprint Distance: 750m κολύμβηση, 15km mountain bike, 5km ορεινό τρέξιμο.

Και στις δυο αποστάσεις μπορούν να συμμετέχουν ομάδες σκυταλοδρομίας, αποτελούμενες από 2 ή 3 αθλητές / αθλήτριες.

Στον αγώνα αναμένονται να λάβουν μέρος επαγγελματίες και ερασιτέχνες αθλητές όλων των ηλικιών και δυνατοτήτων από περισσότερες από 25 χώρες. Ανάμεσα τους θα βρίσκονται κορυφαίοι Εθνικοί και Παγκόσμιοι Πρωταθλητές, οι οποίοι θα διεκδικήσουν χρηματικά έπαθλα και τη δυνατότητα πρόκρισης στο Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα XTERRA, που πραγματοποιείται κάθε τέλος Οκτωβρίου στο Maui της Χαβάης.

 

Η XTERRA, με έδρα την Χαβάη της Αμερικής, που φέτος γιόρτασε τα 21 χρόνια παρουσίας στο χώρο, αποτελεί σήμερα το κορυφαίο brand στα multisport events, με διοργανώσεις σε 35 χώρες και συνολικά περισσότερους από 40 χιλιάδες συμμετέχοντες, από κάθε γωνιά του πλανήτη.

Το σύνθημα του XTERRA είναι «Ζήσε Περισσότερα» (Live More) ενθαρρύνοντας ανθρώπους όλων των ηλικιών και δυνατοτήτων, να δοκιμάσουν, να προσπαθήσουν, να χαρούν τη συμμετοχή, να έρθουν σε επαφή με τη φύση, να γνωρίσουν ανθρώπους με κοινά ενδιαφέροντα, να παραμείνουν ενεργοί με τον αθλητισμό, να διασκεδάσουν!

Η XTERRA Greece, θα συνεχίσει και φέτος το πρόγραμμα εκμάθησης και προπόνησης στο ορεινό τρίαθλο, έτσι ώστε όλο και περισσότεροι ερασιτέχνες αθλητές να συμμετέχουν στη διοργάνωση του Απριλίου. Οι προπονήσεις θα πραγματοποιούνται κάθε εβδομάδα στις διαδρομές του αγώνα, και οι σχετικές πληροφορίες είναι διαθέσιμες στο www.facebook.com/xterragreece και την επίσημη ιστοσελίδα της διοργάνωσης www.xterragreece.com, όπου πραγματοποιούνται και οι εγγραφές για το 5ο XTERRA Greece Championship 2017.

Ο Δήμαρχος Βάρης Βούλας Βουλιαγμένης, Γρηγόρης Κωνσταντέλλος δήλωσε σχετικά με τη διοργάνωση: «Η διοργάνωση του 2016 ήταν μοναδική και άφησε τόσο σε εμάς όσο και τους αθλητές που συμμετείχαν, τις καλύτερες εντυπώσεις. Με μεγάλη μας χαρά στηρίζουμε και πάλι το XTERRA Greece Championship 2017 η οποία αναδεικνύει με τον καλύτερο τρόπο, τη μοναδική ομορφιά του Δήμου μας, σε όλο τον κόσμο. Πιστεύουμε πως η αθλητική αυτή διοργάνωση, με πολύ μεγάλη απήχηση διεθνώς, θα ξεπεράσει και φέτος κάθε προσδοκία και θα δώσει σε ακόμα περισσότερους αθλητές και αθλούμενους από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό, τη δυνατότητα να ζήσουν την εμπειρία του ορεινού τριάθλου».

O Race Director της XTERRA στην Ελλάδα, κ. Κωνσταντίνος Κουμάργιαλης δήλωσε: «Το XTERRA Greece Championship 2016 ήταν η καλύτερη διοργάνωση που έχουμε πραγματοποιήσει στην Ελλάδα και μια απο τις καλύτερες του Ευρωπαικού Πρωταθλήματος XTERRA. Ο Δήμος Βάρης Βούλας Βουλιαγμένης έχει όλα εκείνα τα στοιχεία που απαιτούνται αλλά και τις υποδομές για να φιλοξενήσει μια διεθνή διοργάνωση όπως το XTERRA. Η συνεργασία με τα στελέχη και τους εθελοντές του Ο.Α.Π.Π.Α, τις υπηρεσίες του Δήμου και όλους τους εμπλεκόμενους φορείς ήταν εξαιρετική.

Οι εγγραφές για την διοργάνωση του 2017 ειναι ήδη ανοικτές και απο το αυξημένο ενδιαφέρον που υπάρχει τόσο απο την Ελλάδα όσο και το εξωτερικό, είμαστε σίγουροι οτι και φέτος θα έχουμε νέο ρεκόρ συμμετοχών.

Για εμάς έχει μεγάλη σημασία να προσελκύσουμε όλο και περισσότερους ερασιτέχνες αθλητές που θέλουν να γνωρίσουν το off road τρίαθλο. Μπορούν όλοι να προετοιμαστούν και να το δοκιμάσουν είτε ώς ατομικές συμμετοχές στις 2 διαφορετικές αποστάσεις του αγώνα, είτε με την παρέα τους ως ομάδα σκυταλοδρομίας . Η επαφή με τη φύση, η μοναδικές διαδρομές του αγώνα και η εναλλαγή των αθλημάτων, θα τους αποζημιώσει.

Στη φετινή διοργάνωση θα έχουμε τη χαρά να φιλοξενήσουμε και πάλι τους κορυφαίους αθλητές του αγωνίσματος από το εξωτερικό, που πιστοποιούν για ακόμη μια χρονιά, ότι η Ελλάδα αποτελεί σημαντικό σταθμό για το Ευρωπαικό και Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα XTERRA».
