Θανάσης Τερζής: «Η Ελληνική ποδηλασία
είναι σε πολύ καλό δρόμο. Έχει γερές βάσεις»
Οι δηλώσεις του Προέδρου της ΕΟΠ για το 2015 και το 2016
«Είμαστε σε πολύ καλό δρόμο και αυτό φαίνεται από τα όσα έγιναν μέσα στο 2015, όσα έχουν γίνει αυτούς τους πρώτους μήνες του 2016, αλλά και για όσα μπορούμε να πούμε, σχεδόν με βεβαιότητα, ότι θα συμβούν τους επόμενους μήνες».
Ο Πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Ομοσπονδίας Ποδηλασίας (Ε.Ο.Π.) Θανάσης Τερζής, συνέχισε μιλώντας για την σημερινή κατάσταση του αθλήματος, αλλά και τις μεγάλες προοπτικές που έχει:
«Η περίοδος που διανύουμε είναι αναμφισβήτητα δύσκολη. Για ολόκληρη την Ελλάδα, για όλους μας και επομένως και για τον Ελληνικό αθλητισμό. Κάτι που σίγουρα δεν επιδέχεται αμφισβήτηση. Νοιώθω λοιπόν απόλυτα ικανοποιημένος από όσα έχουμε πετύχει.
Η Ελληνική ποδηλασία έχει πραγματικά γερές βάσεις. Και το αποδεικνύει περίτρανα τα τελευταία δύσκολα χρόνια. Παρά τα τεράστια οικονομικά προβλήματα στέκεται γερά στα πόδια της, έχει να επιδείξει σημαντικές επιτυχίες σε υψηλό επίπεδο, έχει σημαντικά επιτεύγματα να δείξει στον τομέα της ανάπτυξης του αθλήματος, ενώ και από οργανωτικής πλευράς είναι πολλές οι διεθνείς διοργανώσεις που έχουν γίνει στην χώρα μας».
Ο Θανάσης Τερζής συνέχισε μιλώντας για τους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Ρίο:
«Άς μην ξεχνάμε ότι μέχρι τώρα είναι ελάχιστες οι Ομοσπονδίες που έχουν πάρει την πρόκριση για το Ρίο. Μόλις 11 από τις 28 συνολικά Ομοσπονδίες που μετέχουν στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες. Δικαιολογημένα λοιπόν νοιώθουμε ευτυχείς που το έχουμε πετύχει κι εμείς. Μάλιστα σε τρία διαφορετικά αγωνίσματα, με τρεις διαφορετικούς αθλητές. Φυσικά θα πρέπει να σημειώσω ότι το τρίτο εισιτήριο για την Βραζιλία, αυτό στην ορεινή ποδηλασία, δεν έχει κλείσει ακόμα, αλλά η σημερινή βαθμολογία μας δείχνει ότι είναι εξαιρετικά δύσκολο να το χάσουμε».
Μίλησε όμως και για τους διεθνείς ποδηλάτες μας που θα πάνε στο Ρίο:
«Ο Γιάννης Ταμουρίδης στον δρόμο και ο Χρήστος Βολικάκης στην πίστα είναι δύο αθλητές που έχουν δείξει κατά επανάληψη την αξία τους και την ποιότητά τους ως ποδηλάτες, αλλά είναι και αθλητές που μάχονται μέχρι το τέλος. Δικαιολογημένα λοιπόν ελπίζουμε και αισιοδοξούμε σε ακόμα καλύτερες εμφανίσεις στην Βραζιλία. Το έργο τους θα είναι εξαιρετικά δύσκολο. Έχουν όμως τις δυνατότητες να σταθούν με αξιώσεις.
Όσο για την ορεινή ποδηλασία, εκεί όλα δείχνουν ότι θα γίνει σκληρή μάχη μέχρι το τέλος. Ο Περικλής Ηλίας και ο Δημήτρης Αντωνιάδης, ο Δημήτρης Αντωνιάδης και ο Περικλής Ηλίας θα παλέψουν σκληρά, ολόκληρο τον μήνα, για το ποιος θα πάρει τελικά το πολυπόθητο εισιτήριο για την Βραζιλία. Εμείς έχουμε βάλει τις προδιαγραφές πρόκρισης και εκείνοι θα κάνουν την προσπάθειά τους. Πάντως και οι δύο είναι αθλητές πρώτης σειράς και έχουν τις δυνατότητες να διακριθούν».
Ο Πρόεδρος της ΕΟΠ, μίλησε για τις διεθνείς διοργανώσεις που έγιναν τον τελευταίο ενάμιση χρόνο, στην Ελλάδα:
«Η Ελληνική Ομοσπονδία εκτός από το εσωτερικό ρίχνει μεγάλο βάρος και στις σχέσεις της με τις Διεθνείς Ομοσπονδίες και τις Ομοσπονδίες των χωρών. Σχέσεις που έχουμε βελτιώσει σημαντικά τα τελευταία χρόνια, σχέσεις που μας επέτρεψαν, παρά την δύσκολη οικονομική κατάσταση να διοργανώσουμε σημαντικούς αγώνες στην Ελλάδα.
Σε συνεργασία λοιπόν με την Πολιτεία και την Τοπική Αυτοδιοίκηση, μόνο μέσα στο 2015 και στο πρώτο τετράμηνο του 2016, η ΕΟΠ έχει διοργανώσει, με απόλυτη επιτυχία, το Πανευρωπαϊκό Πίστας, τους Βαλκανικούς Ανδρών, το Βαλκανικό Ορεινής, παίρνοντας σε όλα άριστα και πολύ κολακευτικά σχόλια.
Ο Θανάσης Τερζής κατέληξε:
«Η Ελληνική ποδηλασία θα συνεχίσει με την ίδια πετυχημένη συνταγή και να είναι όλοι σίγουροι ότι είναι πολλές ακόμα οι μεγάλες στιγμές που θα προσφέρει στους φίλους της. Άλλωστε είμαστε ένα άθλημα ιδανικό για την Ελλάδα. Η προσπάθειά μας ειδικά αυτή την εποχή δεν θα είναι καθόλου εύκολη. Όμως έχουμε και την πείρα και την διάθεση να πετύχουμε και θα τα καταφέρουμε, έχοντας στο πλευρό μας τα σωματεία, τους αθλητές και όλους τους φίλους και εργάτες του αθλήματος».
