Υγιεινή των ποδιών

. Το τρίαθλο είναι ένα απαιτητικό άθλημα που προσφέρει ιδιαίτερα οφέλη στον αθλούμενο  απαιτώντας παράλληλα, ιδιαίτερη φροντίδα σε όλο το σώμα. Τα πόδια είναι από τα σημεία του σώματος τα οποία ταλαιπωρούνται ιδιαίτερα τόσο στην προπόνηση όσο και στους αγώνες.

Οι τριαθλητές μεταξύ άλλων  τρέχουν ξυπόλυτοι στις Τ1 και Τ2, φορούν τα ποδηλατικά και τα παπούτσια του τρεξίματος δίχως κάλτσες και κυκλοφορούν σε κολυμβητήρια και παραλίες με άμμο με μεγάλο κίνδυνο να προσβληθούν από μύκητες.

Μερικά απο τα πιο συνηθισμένα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζουν τα πόδια των τριαθλητών από άποψης υγιεινής είναι οι μυκητιάσεις . Οι μυκητιάσεις των ποδιών (tinea pedis), συνήθως παρουσιάζονται με την άνοδο της θερμοκρασίας και είναι πιο διαδεδομένες στις δυτικές κοινωνίες. Έκτος από την άνοδο της θερμοκρασίας αναπτύσσονται πιο εύκολα από την υγρασία λόγω εφίδρωσης των ποδιών, αλλά και στη χρήση παπουτσιών  που δεν αερίζονται καλά.

 

Το ‘πόδι του αθλητή’

Η συχνότερη μυκητίαση που αναπτύσσεται στα πόδια είναι το επονομαζόμενο ‘πόδι του αθλητή’ που συνήθως οφείλεται σε μόλυνση από κακές συνθήκες υγιεινής, είτε στο μικρόβιο candida, είτε σε κάποια άλλη μορφή μικροβίου. Το ‘πόδι του αθλητή’ συνήθως αναπτύσσεται μεταξύ των δακτύλων, ενώ οφείλει την ονομασία του στο ότι πρωτοπαρουσιάστηκε μεταξύ αθλητών που γυμνάζονταν σε κλειστούς αθλητικούς χώρους και συστηματικά περπατούσαν ξυπόλητοι σε αποδυτήρια και ντους.

Τα συμπτώματα της συγκεκριμένης μυκητίασης, που μπορεί να εμφανιστούν μεμονωμένα ή σε συνδυασμό μεταξύ τους, είναι ξηροδερμία, κνησμός, απολέπιση, φλεγμονή και φλύκταινες, οι οποίες συχνά σκάνε, δημιουργώντας επώδυνες και φλεγμαίνουσες πληγές.

Η μυκητίαση αυτή μπορεί να εξαπλωθεί στα πέλματα και στα νύχια των ποδιών, αλλά και σε άλλα τμήματα του σώματος, ιδίως όταν ξυνόμαστε και στη συνεχεία αγγίζουμε κι άλλα σημεία του δέρματος  (μετάδοση της μόλυνσης). Η μυκητίαση των νυχιών αρχίζει συνήθως με μια κηλίδα χρώματος άσπρου ή κίτρινου που εμφανίζεται κάτω από την άκρη ενός νυχιού.Όσο προχωρά η μόλυνση πιο βαθιά στο νύχι, προκαλεί αλλοίωση του χρώματος του, το κάνει να είναι πιο χοντρό με άκρες που θρυμματίζονται εύκολα. Η όψη του νυχιού δεν είναι καλή και μπορεί να συνυπάρχει πόνος.

 

Τα πιο κοινά συμπτώματα είναι τα ακόλουθα:

•  Έντονη ερυθρότητα του δέρματος (φλεγμονή)

•  Ερεθισμός και κνησμός (φαγούρα)

•  Ξεφλούδισμα του δέρματος στο σημείο της μόλυνσης, συνήθως στα μικρά δάκτυλα.

•  Δημιουργία κύστεων ή φυσαλίδων (φουσκάλες με διαυγές υγρό).

•  Έντονη δυσοσμία του ποδιού.

  • Σπασμένα νύχια

 

Είναι σαφές ότι σε αυτές τις περιπτώσεις είναι απαραίτητο να έχουμε ιατρική διάγνωση και σύσταση κατάλληλης θεραπείας.

 

Υπάρχουν πολλοί τρόποι μετάδοσης της μυκητίασης των ποδιών:

•  Από άτομο σε άτομο με σωματική επαφή, ακόμα και στο οικογενειακό περιβάλλον.

•  Όταν περπατάμε χωρίς παπούτσια σε δημοσίους χώρους όπως: μοκέτες ξενοδοχείων, ξύλινα πατώματα, αποδυτήρια γυμναστηρίων, παράλιες, πισινές κ.α.

•  Όταν χρησιμοποιούμε κοινόχρηστα αντικείμενα όπως: πετσέτες, σφουγγαράκια, χαλάκια μπάνιου κ.τ.λ.

Οι  μύκητες εξαπλώνονται συνήθως σε μέρη, όπου οι συνθήκες υγιεινής, ζέστης και υγρασίας ευνοούν το πολλαπλασιασμό τους. Τέτοια μέρη είναι: οι πισίνες, τα αποδυτήρια, τα γυμναστήρια και τα δημόσια ντους.

Σήμερα, υπάρχει αποτελεσματική θεραπεία. Τα περισσότερα προϊόντα (κρέμες) χρειάζονται ως και τέσσερις εβδομάδες εφαρμογής στην πάσχουσα περιοχή για να θεραπεύσουν τη μυκητίαση.

Αναφέρουμε μία σειρά  προληπτικών μέτρων για την αποφυγή των μυκητιασικών λοιμώξεων:

  1. Να ελέγχουμε τα      πόδια μας συχνά, δίνοντας ιδιαίτερη προσοχή σε τυχόν αλλαγές στο χρώμα του      δέρματος . Αν παρατηρήσουμε σημάδια αλλαγής χρώματος στα νύχια αυτό πρέπει      να μας προβληματίσει για τυχόν       ύπαρξη μυκητίασης.
  2. Να κόβουμε τα νύχια      μας ίσια και όχι πάρα πολύ κοντά. Όλοι μας έχουμε παρατηρήσει ότι εάν      κόβουμε τις γωνιές των νυχιών χωρίς να βλέπουμε που τελειώνει το νύχι      μπορεί να προκαλέσουμε το συχνό πρόβλημα της εισχώρησης νυχιού στο δέρμα.
  3. Πρέπει να είμαστε      ιδιαιτέρως προσεκτικοί για τυχόν λύση της συνέχειας  του δέρματος ή/και πληγές. Πρέπει να      τονίσουμε ότι το ξεφλούδισμα των πελμάτων μπορεί να είναι σημάδι      μυκητίασης.
  4. Δεν πρέπει να      κάνουμε διάνοιξη μόνοι μας των φουσκαλών. Είναι καλύτρερα να τις      προστατέψουμε  με ένα λεπτό στρώμα      σφουγγαριού, ή τις  καλύψουμε με      προστατευτικό επίθεμα με σιλικόνη ή τζελ για προστασία από λοίμωξη και      παράλληλα για επίσπευση της επούλωσης.
  5. Να πλένουμε πολύ      καλά τα πόδια μας καθημερινά και να τα σκουπίζουμε πολύ προσεχτικά με      καθαρή πετσέτα την οποία δε χρησιμοποιούμε για να στεγνώσουμε κάποιο άλλο      μέρος του σώματός μας , δίνοντας μεγάλη έμφαση στην περιοχή μεταξύ των      δαχτύλων.
  6. Μετά τη χρήση      πλένουμε και σιδερώνουμε  τις      πετσέτες των ποδιών σε υψηλή θερμοκρασία.
  7. Να αποφεύγουμε να      περπατάμε ξυπόλυτοι σε περιοχές όπου αναπτύσσονται εύκολα  μύκητες όπως τα κολυμβητήρια, αποδυτήρια      γυμναστηρίων κ.λπ
  1. Να  αποφεύγουμε  τη χρήση κοινόχρηστων αντικειμένων όπως: σφουγγαράκια, πετσέτες μπάνιου κ.τ.λ.
  1. Να χρησιμοποιούμε      καθαρές και στεγνές κάλτσες, φτιαγμένες από 100% βαμβακερό ύφασμα.
  2. Να αφήνουμε τα      παπούτσια του τρεξίματος και της ποδηλασίας σε εξωτερικό χώρο να      αερίζονται, όταν  δεν τα      χρησιμοποιούμε.
  3. Όταν χρησιμοποιούμε      τα παπούτσια του τρεξίματος ή της ποδηλασίας χωρίς κάλτσες, πρέπει να  πλένουμε τα πόδια μας μετά τη χρήση τους      και να χρησιμοποιούμε ειδικές αντιμυκητιασικές πούδρες στα παπούτσια  ώστε να «σκοτώνουμε» τους μύκητες.
  4. Να χρησιμοποιούμε      τις ειδικές αλοιφές  που βοηθούν τα      πόδια να ξεπεράσουν την καθημερινή ταλαιπωρία.  Προτείνουμε αλοιφές οι οποίες  ενυδατώνουν το δέρμα, απομακρύνουν νεκρά      κύτταρα του δέρματος καθώς και αλοιφές που προλαμβάνουν μυκητιασικές      λοιμώξεις. Ταυτόχρονα αυτές οι αλοιφές συμβάλλουν στην καταπολέμηση της      δυσοσμίας.

Η μυκητίαση των νυχιών μπορεί να παραμείνει για πάντα εάν δεν χορηγηθεί θεραπεία. Για το λόγο αυτό εάν διαπιστωθεί ότι υπάρχει κάτω από την άκρη του νυχιού μια μικρή κηλίδα άσπρη ή κίτρινη τότε πρέπει να ζητηθεί συμβουλή από γιατρό.
