Βέβαια είναι δύσκολο να μπορέσουμε να ξέρουμε τις πραγματικές εργομετρικές εξετάσεις/ αποτέλεσματα του κάθε αθλητή αφού κανένας δεν θέλει να μαθευτεί τουλάχιστον όσο είναι εν ενενεργεία αθλητής
Ας επικεντρώσουμε όμως στην μέγιστη πρόσληψη. Ο “μέσος άντρας” έχει γύρω στο 42 (ml/ kg/min) και αντίστοιχα μία γυναίκα στο 38. Μία αθλήτρια ποδηλασίας υψηλού επιπέδου έχει στο 56 και αντίστοιχα ένας ποδηλάτης υψηλού επιπέδου στο 75.
Οποιοσδήποτε ερασιτέχνης αθλητής ποδηλασίας ή τριάθλου έχει πάνω από 60 πρέπει να είναι ιδιαίτερα ευχαριστημένος ενώ πάνω από 70 είναι εξαιρετικό για οποιονδήποτε ερασιτέχνη αθλητή.
